John McCain Works to hide the Truth about POWs
Washington D.C – John McCain Betrayed former Vietnam Prisoners-of-War who attempted to access government records, raising serious concerns among American citizens about the presidential candidate’s intentions.
With the overwhelming support of over 400 congressmen, the so-called “Truth Bill,” (HR 3306) sailed through the House of Representatives, a bill that stated: “…the Department of Defense shall make available to the public with its records and information a complete listing of United States personnel classified as prisoner of war, missing in action…”
With a new congressional mandate and their veteran’s bill passing the House, POW-interest groups anticipated a similar victory in the Senate, since enabling the families of POW’s and those missing in action to gain new information, raise awareness, and find closure was popular with the electorate.
Despite ample amounts of evidence that justified further investigation, including over 1,600 firsthand sightings of live U.S. prisoners; followed by nearly 14,000 secondhand accounts; John McCain severely undermined citizens’ attempts to obtain government records concerning Vietnamese prison camps.
Senator John McCain as an influential member of the Senate Select Committee on P.O.W./M.I.A. affairs, routinely doubted credible witness reports, left committee hearings in protest of continuing attempts to access further POW inquiries, and finally destroyed attempts to aid veterans by replacing “The Truth Bill” with “The McCain Bill,” a piece of legislation that severely curtailed the investigative power of the original legislation.
McCain’s long-time opposition to releasing documents and information about American POW and MIA in Vietnam who have still not been accounted for has not been investigated thoroughly.
The evidence proves that John McCain covered up access to a multitude of files, as concerned citizens, we simply ask:
“What is John McCain afraid of?”
