State College Republican Executive Director files paperwork to recall Republican

October 17, 2007 at 6:41 pm (Uncategorized)

Today, MIRS News reported that the Michigan Federation of College Republican Executive Director Andrew Boyd a strong Justin Zatkoff ally has filed the paperwork to recall Republican State Senator Gerald VanWoerkom (R-Norton Shores)

He apparently also filed the paperwork to recall Representative Mary Valentine (D-Muskegon) after he had filed the papers last month and then backed out of it.

I would have no problems with Boyd’s activities if he was not the Executive Director of a state wide Republican organization. He should step down immediately.

In Muskegon County today, Andrew BOYD, a college Republican activist filed recall paperwork against Van Woerkom and Valentine on the basis that Van Woerkom supported HB 5194, the income tax increase bill. Valentine supported both HB 5194HB 5198, which is the use tax expansion to services.

    Joe-

What about someone like Amanda Zaluckyj recalling Republicans? Should she be asked to step down if she did so?

Making an electoral threat is common practice. For one to file the papers and actually make the recall come to fruition is entirely different.

Secondly, Mr. Anonymous (I assume Justin Zatkoff) if something did leak out of a Senators office and made it into your hands when you have threatened to recall him…it could cause employment problems for your friend that leaked constituent correspondence.

This is unbelievable – a Zatkoff appointee working AGAINST a republican when we are already in the minority.

Nothing like working against ourselves when we clearly have enough work against our REAL enemies.

MFCR is in some serious trouble.

Joe, if there was a vote on abortion and Republicans voted with the pro-abortion camp, would you recall them?

If I was the Executive Director of a statewide Republican organization, I would have the good sense to step down beforehand.

I absolutely would try to recall anyone that supported abortion rights.

It’s also important to note that abortion and taxes have no moral equivalence.

I disagree, Abortion kills and so do higher taxes.

Even more so, while abortion kills the lives of an innocent child… higher taxes can both metaphorically and truly kill the lives of entire families.

Don’t you think it would make a statement to think that the youth republican movement can stand up to these politicians!? I mean, what good is a Republican that votes like a Democrat? No Good!

As youth leaders we should take a stand and show these politicians we mean business! Now, more than ever, is when we should recall RINOs!

I am not going to respond until you put your name to your ridiculous statement.
